DALOSS welcomes Niyousha Sattari
DALOSS welcomes Niyousha Sattari as an affiliate researcher. Niyousha Sattari is a PhD student in Theatre Studies at the University of Tehran, in the Department of Music and Performing Arts. Her work primarily focuses on digital and mixed-reality performances, exploring the audience-performance relationship in technological contexts. She is interested in studying the sense of ‘community’ experienced by participants in these performances. In spring 2024, she worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Copenhagen, where she focused on an article about the community of ‘hybrid beings’ on mixed-reality stages.
As a DALOSS affiliate, Niyousha will be concentrating on the question of how it is possible to create an archive of performances, which have been honoured for their ephemerality and resistance to documentation. Furthermore, even if such an archive is created, can these performances still be considered live?
