Applications for external funding 

If you wish to apply for external funding for a research project located at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, you must submit an expression of interest by e-mail to the research support officer, Tenna Lyhne Iversen ( 

You will then receive information on the application procedure. If you are applying for smaller, national grants, support will be provided by the department. If you are applying for major and/or international grants, e.g. from the EU, the department will put you in touch with the relevant research support unit at faculty or university level.

Major annual calls

When major annual calls are announced, you will be able to read more about the opportunities available and application deadlines on the following pages.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation: The deadline is  usually in January and the internal deadline in November. When the call is published you will find more information through this website.

Independent Research Fund Denmark (FKK): The deadline for the call this fall is October 2 and the internal deadline for expression of interest for FKK1, journals and travel grants FSE is August 5. International postdoc September 7. Find process plan and more information on this website.

The Carlsberg Foundation: Deadline October 1, 2020. The call has been late compared to previous years but is now announced here. Contact research support officer Tenna Lyhne Iversen no later than August 26 if you wish to apply with housing at IKK:

The New Carlsberg Foundation: The deadline is September 18 and the internal deadline is August 19  for PhD projects, August 12 for project funds and September 4 for postdoc projects. Find the internal proces plan on this website. 

Marie Curie Fellowships: The deadline for the annual call is in September, the internal departmental deadline in February. Further information on travel opportunities and potential collaborations is available from the department.
