Applications for external funding 

If you wish to apply for external funding for a research project located at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, you must submit an expression of interest by e-mail to the research support officer, Tenna Lyhne Iversen (ikk-forsk@hum.ku.dk). 

You will then receive information on the application procedure. If you are applying for smaller, national grants, support will be provided by the department. If you are applying for major and/or international grants, e.g. from the EU, the department will put you in touch with the relevant research support unit at faculty or university level.

Major annual calls

When major annual calls are announced, you will be able to read more about the opportunities available and application deadlines on the following pages.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation: The deadline for the next call is January 2024. In-house deadline for applications is in November 2023. When the call is published you can find our in-house process plan on this website. 

Independent Research Fund Denmark (FKK), spring call: Deadline for the spring call is in March. Candidates for Sapere Aude 2023 have been found. If you have questions to the call please contact the research support on ikk-forsk@hum.ku.dk. 

Independent Research Fund Denmark (FKK), fall call: Deadline for the fall call is in October and the internal deadline is in August. When the call is published you can find our in-house process plan on this website. However, if you wish to apply for DFF1 or DFF2 projects, the internal deadline is in April, therefor please contact the research support on ikk-forsk@hum.ku.dk if this is of interest. 

The Carlsberg Foundation: The deadline for the annual call is in October. When the call is published you can find our in-house process plan on this website. If you wish to apply for a large scale project, the internal deadline is in April, therefor please contact the research support on ikk-forsk@hum.ku.dk if this is of interest. 

Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships: The deadline for the annual call is medio September 2023, the in-house deadline for supervisors to hand in expression of interest together with a postdoctoral candidate is on February 20. Find more information on the process and how to engage in potential collaborations on this website .
