"Spillet mellem det lokale og det globale - hvilke udfordringer stiller det til musikforskning i 2010?" Musikvidenskabelige perspektiver på mødet mellem global musikkultur og lokale musikmiljøer.: Med udgangspunkt i mit igangværende arbejde med at undersøge sammenhængen mellem globale og lokale musikkulturer vil jeg i mit foredrag diskutere hvilke udfordringer dette møde stiller til nutidig musikvidenskabelig forskning. Jeg vil eksemplificere diskussionen ud fra oplevelser fra mit feltarbejde i Østafrika og Danmark og fænomener som kulturmøde, verdensmusik, revival, festivalkultur, sponsorater og kulturstøtte vil stå centralt i diskussionen. Selvom mit primære udgangspunkt er musikalsk antropologi og musiketnologi, er det min opfattelse at diskussionen berører en meget stor del af den musikalske praksis i samtiden.
