Rósa Magnúsdóttir: “Agents of Cultural Diplomacy: Ground Control and Generals of the Cultural Cold War”
In this talk Magnúsdóttir will link the biographical turn in history to the concept of cultural diplomacy and the cultural Cold War. By turning our focus to the actors and agencies involved in cultural diplomacy, we can come closer to understanding the actual impact of the cultural Cold War, including exhibitions.
Rósa Magnúsdóttir is Associate Professor of History at Aarhus University and Professor at the University of Iceland. She is a specialist in cultural diplomacy in Cold War Europe and author of Enemy Number One: The United States in Soviet Ideology and Propaganda, 1945-1959 (2019).
