Professor Mieke Bal of The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, founding director of the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), visits our university, and the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, in order to engage in an open discussion concerning her work and interdisciplinary approaches to visual artefacts. The discussion is intended as a set of exchanges in critical thinking. It will be initiated by having five researchers from different disciplines present questions respecting Bal’s work and its migratory potential in relation to visual artefacts that have become pressing concerns in their work.
