In my PhD project Materiality and space at the Danish royal court between Reformation and absolutism: Ephemeral festival decorations during the reigns of Frederik II and Christian IV funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, I investigate the use of temporary festival decorations and constructions on the occasions of various celebrations at the early modern Danish royal court c. 1536-1660.

My PhD project is affiliated to the research project Materials and Ideologies in Court Culture 1550-1650: Rudolf von Deventer's manuscripts of fireworks and artillery, dedicated to King Frederik II in the Royal Library, Copenhagen lead by professor Maria Fabricius Hansen as well as PhD in technical art history and Paintings Conservator Anne Haack Christensen. https://artsandculturalstudies.ku.dk/research/rudolf-von-deventers-fireworks-and-artillery/
