In my pratice-based PhD project Wormholes – when times collide I set out to develop an anachronistic curatorial method on the basis of an exhibition series at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art. 3 historic exhibitions with subject and artistic exploration resonating with similar subject matter in contemporary art will be subject of new artistic intervention and curatorial exploration. The exhibitions in question are the futurism-exhibition of 1912, the women’s retrospective exhibition from 1920 and international surrealist exhibition Kubisme–Surrealisme from 1935. Combining historic exhibition strategies, archival material, artistic and curatorial research and artworks from different historical moments the exhibitions will generate meetings of different times within an immersive setting. Parallel with the forming of these exhibitions a curatorial method will be developed on the theoretic base of Walter Benjamins ideas of cultural materials potential for tigersprung, the leap of concepts across time.

I am currently working on the upcoming exhibition Untimelyness (working title) on connecting the artistic project of Kvindelige Kunstneres Retrospektive Udstilling from 1920 to new currents contemporary art at Den frie Udstillingsbygning August 25 - October 22, 2023.
