Welcome to the inaugural lectures by two newly appointed professors at the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Arts and Cultural Studies.

The Department of Arts and Cultural Studies celebrates the appointment of two professors who will strengthen the research and teaching in the fields of digital culture and aesthetic technology studies. 

Reflecting on recent developments in their fields and on their different ways of engaging with critical cultural research in research, teaching, collaborative leadership and public scholarship, Bjarki Valtýsson and Kristin Veel will consider how technological transformations both shape and are shaped by everyday life, institutional practices and aesthetics.
