Unlearning Routines of the Impossible
Annette Krauss's artistic research is dedicated to unlearning deeply ingrained habits of thinking and doing in the face of social injustice. In her practice, she explores how we might engage with unlearning physically, intellectually, and collectively. What difficulties, complexities and joys arise when letting go of deep-seated routines within Western or transnational contexts? Who is the "we," and what role do institutional habits play in these processes? Krauss explores these questions together with various groups at the intersections of art, normalisation and the affective production of impossibilities – how embodied and institutional habits reinforce what seems unchangeable.
In the workshop, Annette will share some of her artistic approaches through texts, inputs and exercises that she offers as a lense into her artistic work on collective processes and (un-)disciplinary pedagogies.
