My PhD-project seeks to investigate Italian Renaissance prints with erotic and/or violent subjects. The goal is to better understand printmaking in this period as a medium with its own set boundaries and rules for communication. The project will also examine how these prints function as agents to maintain and challenge cultural and political power relations.
